Celebrating the Summer Solstice

The Summer Solstice is a significant turning point, it’s akin to midday, as the climax or peak point of the year. It’s been celebrated by many different cultures of humanity around the world for millennia, long before Christmas and the new year concepts were introduced.

Symbolism of the Summer Solstice

The summer solstice is known as the moment when the sun appears at its highest point in the sky. As it’s the longest day of the year, at this occasion, with the sun at it’s peak expression, it’s traditionally observed as the the climax of the year. Celebrating the summer solstice can help us to get more aligned with nature, in synch with real time and more in tune with our-self.

The summer solstice is also referred to as midsummer. Since prehistory, as humanity was well attuned with nature, the summer solstice has been a significant time of year for many cultures around the world. Traditionally, it’s been celebrated with various rituals and festivals.

In our modern day world, we need to remember that the cycles of nature around us, also reflects the cycles within us. As we tune into align with the sun’s journey throughout the year, we can also grasp a better understanding of ourself.

The summer solstice represents a major turning point of where we are in the the cycles of our solar system. This peak time represents growth, evolution, and reaching full bloom and abundance . It’s the time to honor the sun as the essence of spirit, that gives life to all living things on earth. It’s the optimal time for activities such as joyful dancing, singing and laughing.

Remember, in essence, everything in life dances to a frequency or rhythm. At this highest point of the year, nature is at it’s peak expression. It’s about gaining greater mental clarity of where we’re going, having foresight and crystal clear intentions of where we’re heading.

Our head, at the top of our body, may be seen as our pilot. It’s akin to the flower, a sort of radar aligning to the heavens. As a plant, has it’s flower ion top, as like a radar being guided by the heavens. We may see how what happens on earth is highly influenced on our movement the heavens. As in astrology, we can tap into the movement of the heavens for guidance, to help get a clear intention. This is especially the time of year to be guided by our higher self, so to speak, for the highest good of all living beings. ‘

Since primitive times, the summer solstice has been known as a special time of spiritual significance. We may think of it as the magical time when a a portal opens up. It’s the moment to celebrate the sun’s power, which symbolises light and growth. At this special time, there’s an opportunity to tap in, tune in and be guided by the heavens with a clear direction and intentions for the future.

The solstice is especially the time for practicing rituals of gratitude. Especially at this time, seek ways of feeling feeling more open to appreciation and expressing gratitude. Aim to align yourself with the universe by being attuned with the journey of the earth with the sun. At this time, look at how to clarify your intentions, focus, goals and dreams for the year ahead to come to fruition.

As the summer solstice is energetically, so highly charged at this time we’re at our fullness of strength. Hence, it’s an especially powerful time to express gratitude. For much of humanity, this special day has been known as one of the most powerful days of the year for spiritual growth and healing. It’s also the time to foresee and clearly visualise what you’d like to have in the future.

The sun reflects fire, light and spirit. It symbolises transformation, enlightening and illumination from the depths of darkness. The sun provides the light and warmth necessary for all living beings to thrive and prosper. For thousands of years, many different cultures have held various rituals to honor the summer solstice. Meditation, gazing into a fire, even just a candle is a great way to honor the essence of the sun at its height of power before it returns back again to the winter darkness.

Reflect upon how the summer solstice represents a birth. It’s like when the vortex of the newborn emerges from the womb. It’s that time to awaken, and strengthen our connection to the higher, divine energies all around us. As we observe the blossoming of life all around us, we can receive the energy of vitality and experience awe for the generosity of the sun that provides the spirit for us to grow.

Traditionally, the solstice is the special time to re-connect with our higher self. The sun represents light and consciousness. It takes us out of the dark shadows. Just as seeds are planted in the earth, our soul needs the light of the sun to grow. Just as the sun unfolds the flowers of the trees, this too is our peak time of growth, expansion and abundance. It’s the time to open our hearts to receive the light of source for illumination.

Cranial Reflexology

Interestingly, as we mention reflexology, most people just think of foot reflexology. However there are also many other reflex areas of the body. Of particular relevance for the summer solstice is ‘cranial’ reflexology. There are specific points on your head which can facilitate the awakening of awareness. People often say that something magical happens when these points are accessed.

In Traditional Oriental Medicine, many of these points are referred to as ‘Aupoints’. However, with this modality their application is with a gentle touch rather than with needles. It’s said that they are like openings, portals or gateways of consciousness.

The summer solstice is the ideal time for cranial bodywork. Our head is like a lotus. Just as traditionally, the lotus flower symbolically represents overcoming worldly obstacles, and in turn raising above the murky waters and tuning into the uplifting spiritual growth. It’s generally considered to be about transcending our limitations and being guided by the uplifting spirit and blossoming toward the light.

Modern day physicists acknowledge that beyond the illusion of the physical, there’s the ‘quantum’ field. It’s believed that this simple ‘Quantum Cranial Activation’ may be likened to an ‘attunement’ process. This may help us to connect to the heavenly realm for guidance, facilitating a shift in consciousness. Revelations

In 2025 I will be presenting a series of ‘Revelations’ seminars. The overall theme is of dispelling myths, so that as we have greater clarity, a higher truth may be revealed. A revelation is about rising above the illusion and having clarity. It’s clearing away the veils, divulging greater awareness and hence more conscious choices in life.
